Teraflex Shackles

About

Teraflex has been in business since 1996.  However, the founders of Teraflex have been involved with Jeeps since the 50s.  There is no other company involved with Jeeps (other than Jeep) who knows Jeeps better.  They were the first ones to make after-market suspension systems for certain Jeep models and their reputation has grown since then.  When you need Jeep parts or accessories, Teraflex should be the name you think of first.

What is a Shackle?

The basic definition of a shackle is something that restrains something from moving.  That being said, a shackle in regards to a vehicle is a link (normally pivoted) that is used to connect the body of a vehicle to a piece of the car’s suspension called a spring.

Teraflex Shackles

Teraflex manufactures different types of shackles that work with different suspensions.  Depending on the type of suspension you have you may want the revolver shackles.  These have an innovative design that allows the shackle to rotate allowing maximum flex for the springs with minimum stress.  On the other hand, you may opt for the HD front shackles.  These are less expensive and more basic, but they are dependable and will do the same job.  There is also the HD rear kickback shackle.  These are hinged shackles and they are sold as a pair (as are all of the others).  When you go to the Teraflex web site you will be able to see all of these choices and many more.

Where to buy

Teraflex makes it very easy to buy their parts.  When you are looking for Teraflex parts and products, you should start with their web site.  There you will see pictures and specs for all of their parts.  You can get pricing information and even buy the parts straight from them.  They also have a dealer link where you can find a dealer local to you who is authorized to sell Teraflex parts and products.  Alternatively, you can search the internet and find a host of other sites that will sell you Teraflex parts and products.

Warranty

All Teraflex parts come with part specific warranties.  This means that each part has its own set of limitations and differs in the type and length of coverage.  Warranties can be found in the packing material that your part came in.  Read all material from cover to cover to ensure that you fully understand everything covered therein.
